SAI - System Reception Integration

The cooperative, in addition to the management of its Extraordinary Reception Centers (CAS), has been collaborating with the Municipality of Palazzolo sull'Oglio since the beginning of 2018 on the SAI project (former SIPROIMI - former SPRAR), Protection System for holders of international protection and unaccompanied foreign minors.

Access to this System is reserved for holders of international protection, all unaccompanied foreign minors and residence permit holders to victims of violence or trafficking, victims of domestic violence, health reasons, victims of labor exploitation, disasters, acts of special civic value.

The SAI Protection System consists of the network of local authorities that access the National Fund for Asylum Policies and Services for the implementation of integrated reception projects, within the limits of available resources. At the territorial level, local authorities, with the valuable support of third sector realities, guarantee integrated reception interventions that go beyond the mere distribution of food and lodging, providing in a complementary way also measures of information, accompaniment, assistance and orientation, through the construction of individual paths of socio-economic integration.

The SAI's territorial projects are characterized by an active protagonism, shared by large cities and small towns, metropolitan areas and provincial towns, such as precisely Palazzolo sull'Oglio, which has joined this System with conviction.

For about six years now, the Municipality of Palazzolo and "Un Sole per Tutti" have joined forces to make this System work at its best, guaranteeing, from time to time, a proper and "good" reception for the approximately 38 protection holders who every six months, this is the average duration of the project, rotate within the structure.
