At Home Away From Home

At Home Out of Home intends to accompany in a "light" way to autonomy 5 young people of new age, with migration background, offering them not only a home, a pleasant and stimulating place to live, but also spaces that can encourage and guide them towards their future.

The project idea of "At Home Outside the Home" stands in continuity with the cultural shift underway in the organization of personal services. In fact, the project intends to represent a shift towards vulnerable minors from an attitude of protection to one that promotes the capacity of the new adult, giving him or her the opportunity to build a life project independent of the family of origin that has failed to support him or her.

The project aims to be a bridge aimed at the living and working autonomy of the 5 young people involved: living quarters means having a place for oneself, where one can begin to develop one's own idea of life and define one's own planning.

Specifically, "At Home Out of Home" intends to support hosted youth in achieving the following goals:

  1. Personal and housing autonomy.
  2. Literacy
  3. Training and job placement

"At Home Outside the Home" is a project supported with Eight Per Thousand funds from the Waldensian Church.
